I thought someone might know why, all of a sudden, it won't work in the car. The display comes up, but the station doesn't kick in on the radio. Worked fine before...had the car battery charged...would that be a factor? Thanks for any I'll return to lurkdom.

Did it stop working immediately after charging the battery? (By "charging" do you mean "jump start"?) Did your battery completely die?

Do you have a built-in unit? Or, do you have an aftermarket unit? If an aftermarket unit, is it hardwired to the electrical system of the car or is it plugged into your cig lighter? Also, who did the installation? If the person that hardwired it cut corners job you might speak to them. Seems to me you shouldn't lose the memory if your unit is installed properly, especially if it is a built-in unit.

Like the person above mentioned, you might need to re-activate it. In my non-satellite car radio I have to enter an activation code if I disconnect the battery or the battery is fully discharged.)

With the above questions in mind, try asking the "Buying and Maintaining a Car" board.

Worst case scenario is that the unit fried when you jumpstarted it.

You could also call Sirius: 1.888.539.SIRIUS (have your account number)

If it is a built-in unit, I'd also try the car dealership. If it is an aftermarket unit I would try Radio Shack.
