I wanted the RMD from an inherited IRA deposited monthly into my checking account.

When I wanted Vanguard to do this for a joint account that was basically my mother's, they wouldn't because my name wasn't on the sample check I sent. Never mind that I was also a registered account holder. They couldn't be bothered to check. I had been a customer since the mid-80s and that was but one of the customer service slights of the past year or so. Their customer service used to be way better.

I have accounts at Vanguard and Scottrade has always been way more helpful. Most the money at Vanguard - my mother's, mine, my husband's and my kids' is going to be out of there in the not too distant future.
