I was just shooting from the hop with different situations to try to induce some thinking on the chaotic tax/gov't situation at large.I was merely questioning.I don't necessarily think that Ross Perot or any other very welathy person or average Joe for that matter is wrong to take perfectly legal ways to reduce his/her taxes. Those rules are there for all and knowledge is power.I think a flat tax is a good idea and more importantly more logical as you suggest. And yes, Ross would have probably done better with the stocks and maybe done more for the economy.

I guess escalating tax rates is an ill attempt by our gov't as much it is supporting welfare mothers, to put things more in balance in some sort of socialistic effort.Anyone has the opportunity in this country to get as rich or richer if they work hard and apply themselves beyond any obstacles.Yeah some are handed it and some are in the right place at the right time.So what, you deal with the cards dealt to you. Some work for it and take the risks.Who said life is fair or this world owes anyone anything. The really rich have so much it doesnt't make all that much of a difference in their pockets and this relatively small percentage along with big biz, shell out much more tax dollars for everything then the general public/person.They also probably elude more. The problem is the increased tax rates are a deterrant for those trying to get over the wealth hump to extreme prosperity. They should be flat and the tax code simplified.A person shouldn't be penalized more because they are working more or trying to achieve more! But I wonder. If there was a flat tax would it be very low like say 10% or faily high for the lower income people like 25% or higher?
