I was recently reading a list of mistakes retirees often make, at the top of the list was relocating to a new area where you know fewer people, are less familiar with the area, and have a much reduced support system.

I've been searching for this, but I just come up with financial mistakes (and at least one firm that wants to sell their services to avoid them!).

The closest I found was this (item #2):

But that's just a one-liner. It won't be very convincing.

My biggest fear is that something bad will happen and 1poorlady will blame herself. 1poorMIL is a big girl, and I could live with it if her decisions cause her harm (we tried to warn her!). Not sure 1poorlady could, though. She's good at collecting guilt.
