I would prefer an audit to a recount. I don't think anyone would try to hack the paper-plus-electronic machines unless they also had a way to tamper with the paper ballots. If there was any tampering, it would have been with digital-only ballots.

However, one large problem with this election was with the large number of people who were de-registered without due process and without being provided with the information and opportunity to appeal. Many of these cast "provisional" ballots that will probably never be counted in the most contested states.
