I'm a casual golfer, like the game, but probably only play a couple of times a month during the summer and fall. Will be retiring this year, and plan on playing a lot more.

I don't do golf specific exercises, but my main winter sport is cross country skiing, skate skiing to be specific. It is a total body workout, and it builds aerobic endurance and muscle strength. One thing I have to do more of, and this will also be good for golf, is to add flexibility routines that I can do indoors. I think if you find a total body workout type sport that you like doing and will stick with, it will help your golf game. Obviously it won't help your touch on the course, but it will make you stronger. The golf swing is a very athletic motion, so the stronger your core and total body, the better equipped you will be to play.
