I'm not an expert on block chain technology, but I know a little bit. It's not so much a database as it a way to verify transactions in a distributed environment. The integrity of the data is ensured by requiring the majority of the community to verify the transaction before it gets to be committed as fact to the public ledger.

I'm not sure how this can be used for the topic mentioned, it seems a bit out of place. Then again, it's quite fashionable nowadays to think block chain can be used to transform just about any industry. It may also be a case of selling a hammer to someone by persuading him his business is a nail.

What happened to Watson? Dit it cure cancer yet?
