I've got a refrig/freezer (top) that's less than a year old, and the freezer is forming icicles. It's in the garage, so it's subject to wilder temperature swings than indoors.

Is this the case of a bad seal?

Are you opening and closing the freezer a lot? Are you in an area with high humidity?

If you are not excessively opening and closing the freezer door and you are in an area of high humidity, it does sound like air is leaking in around the seal. Before assuming it is a bad seal, first make sure there isn't any packaging around a food item that is getting under the seal. Also, take some general cleaner and clean the seal. If icicles continue to form, you may need to replace the seal.
