I've heard great things about seeing the Stockholm archipelago from a cruise ship as you enter and/or leave that port on a Scandinavian cruise.

Most ships can't use that port because of the shallows, and must use Nynashamn.

That's obviously not true. I did a Baltic Sea cruise on the 91,000 ton Celebrity Constellation back in 2013 and we sailed in and out of Stockholm harbor and saw plenty of islands.

But there are lots of small boats that offer tours of the archipelago with stops at ports inaccessible to a cruise ship.
