Lovely day here today -- not!Awfully happy to be retired and staying in where it's warm.I have wondered, though, about those dreadful California fires! Did they all suddenly get snuffed out?Vermonter
Headed to 70F today in Plano TX and no ice, snow, or bad weather in sight.Cooler on Thursday with cold front coming through and possible t-storms. Average high this time of year is 64F. Headed back east to DC area for turkey day. Hope to avoid the snow in WV....t.
Hi Vermonter. It is a lovely day here in Los Angeles. Mid-80s in the afternoon and dipping into the 60s at night. (Brrrr. Hahaha.) The sky is finally clear from the awful huge Getty fire of several weeks ago, and the smaller (30 acres) fire of a week ago a mile from my home in the hills above Universal Studios. As for the rest of the state, the fires are out for now, but we remain alert in the height of the fire season. So fingers crossed for everyone. They are crossed for you, too, in hopes you don't walk outside and get clunked in the head with one of those fine Vermont icicles.Best, Vivienne
62 below zero at the top of Mt Washington in Vtt.
As you get further into November you find the weather turning colder - butalso you find deer hunting season leap into the wilds.I remember living in Erie,Pa - where a heavy snow right around Thanksgiving was considered lucky. Easier to track deer in fresh snow.
Yup! I hunted in the Alleghany National Forest for many years. The rare Thanksgiving without snow meant you made too much noise if you moved and you wanted to make a clean kill because tracking was a b...ch.
