If I were to do this, I'd probably do it in an IRA where there were no tax consequences and only do it on stolid, slower growth stocks such as Johnson and Johnson, Coke, Pepsi, etc. If you did this in a taxable account you'd want to steer clear of stocks you have owned for a long time with considerable capital gains.

Even so, this isn't my favorite options strategy. You cap your upside for a small upfront cash payment.
