If I'm reading you correctly, then my view is that banks with business models that emphasize branches on street corners are absolutely getting Amazoned. Indeed, if and when Amazon Bank launches and if it focuses on customer service and convenience the way Amazon does, Wells Fargo and banks like it could go the way of Borders.

I rarely ever go to a bank or an ATM. $100 cash can last me 3-6 months at times. Almost everything I buy is via a credit card or through my online bill paying account.

In my case I'm not a millennial by a long stretch and from younger co-workers I talk to, many of them are the same way.

So in my case a bank is rarely needed.
