If someone just walked up to me and asked a question, my mind would probably go blank.

For some questions, sure. But this one had my mind flooded with the faces of dozens of Asian Americans (many of whose names I couldn't remember). It helped to think of, Hollywood, Politics, Classical Music, Business... or ethnicities (Japanese American, Chinese, Indian...). And now I'm kicking myself for all the folks I didn't think of yesterday, and the ones I didn't mention coz I'm not sure they're still alive (France Nuyen? Daniel Akaka? the cast of Flower Drum Song--Jack Soo, that really handsome guy...James Shigeta! (hubbahubba), Nancy Kwan...) and Lou Diamond Philips (part Filipino), Keanu Reeves (part native Hawaiian & Chinese).

It's a great question IMO because it makes you realize how many Asian Americans there are, and their cultural & STEM influences that reach way beyond the numbers. And how things have changed--eg, way higher proportion of South Asians than there were a few decades ago, Vietnamese immigration in the 70s/80s, etc. Honestly, what first came to my mind were people I worked with in Silicon Valley.
