If the judges can make this type of mistake (and I assume the questions have been pre-approved by a committee of "experts") what can they expect from contestants -- nervous teenagers in the spotlight for the first time in their lives.


That may describe the teenager down the block, but not in a million years the subculture of beauty pageant contestants! These teens have typically been doing this since somewhere around kindergarten or early elementary school and are veterans of the spotlight. They've been groomed and trained and coached and rehearsed and taken classes in everything that might give them an edge over the competition.

I suppose this one sad little blond might be an exception, but in general.... I feel badly for her though, having this misfortune plastered across the country.
