if you own no stock and have no interest in the product, why are you wasting your time posting messages on this bulletin board?

Because I enjoy it. Usually. *cough* Just kidding.... =)

Seriously, though, I find satellite radio a fascinating concept and I'd like to watch and see what happens with it. I could try the product, I suppose, but why? Even if I tried satellite radio and absolutely loved it, I still wouldn't touch their stock with a ten foot pole. I like companies with little or no debt. I like companies that are actually profitable. I'm not a venture capitalist nor do I want to be, and regardless of the merits of the product, the financial statements don't pass with me.

For people who have decided to buy the stock, I think it's definitely important to get your hands on the product first hand and give it a try. That's a great form of due diligence. But when they flunk on financial merits, there's no reason for me to continue the due diligence.

Just because the concept fascinates me doesn't mean I have to like the stock.
