If you were “King for a day” what fixes would you dictate?

Great question Bob!

I would be a very unpopular king!!!

1st I would start a flat tax... corporations and individual. No more loop holes. You make money, you pay a share in taxes. It should be easy to calculate how much tax revenue will be coming in and that is the congressional budget. No more.

2nd I would research why healthcare costs are so expensive in the U.S. and maybe even nationalize (I told you I wouldn't be popular) the more expensive processes. Companies should be able to make a fair profit, but more people go bankrupt because of a health related expense than almost any other problem. It is killing social security and most people don't want to pay into it as they believe there will be nothing left for them.

Have you been to an emergency room lately. You get the worst service (if you can wait to get it) and are charged a fortune (no offense to any nurses, doctors or any other hospital staff... blame Bob, he asked).

People are living longer and are requiring vastly more health care than they used to (everyone just died before). We have to get these costs under control.

3rd (and I hate to say it because I am going to sound really harsh) No worky, no eaty. To many people are looking for free handouts.

Lastly, I would round up all psychiatrists and provide them a one way ticket out of my kingdom. They have developed an illness for every possible dumb thing people can do. Every horrible thing someone does is no longer because they are mean... they are simply ill and deserve compassion. Not in my kingdom.

Who is still trying to figure out what to do with lawyers.
