If your a stock trader, how do you calculate short-term activity(buy and selling), of an account? Is there a book and/or website to get help? In addition, is there a recommended worksheet from a book, I can fill-out to help me do this?

****There are programs, some of which I believe are free, which you can download from AOL. Lead ins to these programs may be obtained by typing - Personal Finance - in the keyword section of your board (upper right).

As for calculating the short term gains and losses, that shouldn't be too complicated for anything but wash sales. On the short term sales, just record the buys/sells, gains/losses. With wash sales, if you have a loss, you add those losses to the basis of any of the like stock you buy and sell in less than 30 days before or after you trade that same stock.
