Here are the 3. Their futures, as you will see below, are dubious at best.

1. The For the People Act is a broad measure that reduces voter suppression, ends partisan gerrymandering, curbs dark money, and combats corruption. The HOR passed this measure in early March and sent it to the Senate. Result: Republicans blocked it using a filibuster.

2. The John Lewis Voting Rights Act would restore protections of the 1965 Voting Rights Act that the SC gutted in 2013. HOR passed that in late August 2021 and sent it to the Senate. Result: it sits under threat of filibuster.

3. In the Senate, Manchin expressed misgivings about the voting measures and vowed to hammer out a voting rights bill that could attract the votes of 10 Republicans and defeat a filibuster. He and a number of Democratic colleagues announced the Freedom to Vote Act in mid-September. Result: If there are a mere 10 Republicans to support the measure, we have not seen them yet.
