Anybody follow what Illumina, 23andme (and Google) are planning for personel genetics? Hype or possibly revolutionary?

Affymetrix seems to be teaming up with Navigenics (heavily backed by big names from silicon valley) to offer a similar service.

Who would want to know 'all' their SNPs for 500-600$? Would it catch on? Could it transform medicine if enough people put it all together??? I think so but seem to be a bit 'isolated' for thinking it if I judge by the reaction other MDs around me have had to the idea...

Disclosure: I have bought a lot of Illumina, Affy, Roche, Helicos and Luminex and hope I m right!
