I'm mildly disappointed.

Mildly, mind you: I don't judge my self-worth in terms of success at getting cute little icons on Internet forums. But it WAS significant enough for me to rate a mention in my phone call home to Mom.

Bingo: "Hey Mom, you know that financial news site I was considering* working for a few years ago? They apparently think I write well!"

BingoMom: "Wonderful! Does that mean you'll be coming home soon and/or getting married?"

Mom has actually been lobbying for the Fool job since, hmm, I think 2005 or so. She says the Fool has many things to recommend it: the Fool is in America, the Fool has something to do with computers, the Fool is in America, the people at the Fool have a good sense of humor, and the Fool is in America.

(* This was right around when I got offered the chance to be an Indian Chief. Torn between options I asked myself "What would Warren Buffet do?", and then concluded "Make a lot of money" was perhaps not as specific advice as I could have hoped for.)
