I'm not Roman Catholic, but my Polish relatives (my mother's side--dad was Arab) have something called 7 fishes for Christmas Eve and the Breaking of Bread--and pierogies for Christmas Eve as well. No meat is served that I recall. The pieorgies I think are everyone's favorite dish. Though I avoid gluten as much as possible, I indulge in at least one each of the cabbage, sauerkraut, and potato.
