I'm not sure what the norm is, but my company sends the 401k money each week, the same day as my paycheck is cut.

The way I found out was by checking the brokerage company where the 401k account is held (Merrill Lynch in my case) website and viewing the transaction detail on my account. Perhaps you could do the same.

In terms of finding out about regulations on reporting the information or the timiliness requirements of the employer's contributions, I'm sorry I can't help.
