As someone known to grub a buck now and then, I object to your insunuation.
I intend to boycott F1 and CART cause they're boring.

I'm not sure it's a money/greed thing from the two series. By that I mean Speed Channel (nee Speedvision) doesn't have anywhere the money to throw around that Disney/ABC/ESPN used to throw around.
Both series realize they are at major audience disadvantages to NASCAR, and my theory is that both are on Speed Channel because Speed Channel will put them on a podium.
I recall all the times that The Greedy Mouse bumped CART races from ABC to ESPN2 so they could fawn all over Tiger Woods, or show some other stick'n'ball crap. Certainly no other network would touch something so specialized as F1.
The greed is on the part of the networks, not the series. CBS dropped SCCA Trans AM, TNN canned Outlaws, NBC is out of ALMS, and where's NHRA now?
I'm spoiled, I have DirecTV, so if it's on, I'll get it, but it costs me about $46/month.
