In high school, my team placed 2nd in the World Finals of Odyssey of the Mind (similar to Destination Imagination). Your school has Destination Imagination. Sounds like you instantly hate a school district that doesn't have a Science Olympiad team. If you say Clark schools don't prize academics, why do they have a Destination Imagination program? Isn't this merely a funding issue that all rural/smaller districts like yours face?

I am not familiar with odyssey of the mind, but I have now seen DI in action and I'm not impressed.

That notwithstanding, I see no reason why the school couldn't do both. Funding is of course an issue, but the cost directly to the school would be in the low to mid hundreds, and parents would arrange the remainder.

Another question: based on my limited information of your situation it sounds to me like before that rejection letter from the administrator you were happy with the ditrict (or at least your daughter's teacher) and now after the rejection letter you think the school district is horrible. Correct?

No, I was and remain happy with the teacher. I also give the district credit for permitting my daughter to advance in math when it was clearly indicated. This is important, of course.

I will finish this message later. I am having serious 'puter trouble and I think I'm about to crash again.
