In my Weltanschauung, if there is a slower vehicle, it will accumulate a train behind it. To me. simple courtesy would say to pull over and let them by if the train gets to (say) five cars.

law in many states says when the train is four, you're required to pull over.

not always easy ... trying not to clot up traffic too much, little notice for the turnout & the Republican tail-gating.

i generally start trying to find a turn-out when train is two ..sometimes even one.
( and yeah ..stay slow on a straight long enough to allow passing )

... but maybe i'll now change my ways.
