including many folks who would just as well get their coffee at McD's or Dunkin Donuts. (As an aside, I've had the coffee at McD's and found it to be pretty good, but the last cup of coffee I had at Dunkin Donuts was among the very worst coffee I've ever had)

I don't know how Dunkin Donuts coffee ever got a good reputation for coffee. We have 3 local DDs and I've given each a shot several times...Their coffee is horrible; their lattes nowhere near worth the money. Won't be going back.

In all the Starbucks threads I've read, I don't think I've ever seen Seattle's Best mentioned. Starbucks bought them, or at least their US stores, in 2003. I rarely get their coffee since their lattes are so darn good. They use their Henry's Blend for them. The best of any chain store I've ever been to, including Starbucks (dislike the coffee;lattes are ok).

My local is in a Borders and is frequented by young and old. Weekends it's hard to find a table! After school lets out it's full of study groups and tutoring sessions.

In 2003 there were only 150 or so then; I don't know if the total has grown since then, but I hope so. They should grow S. Best instead of SBUX. Better coffee and waaay better pastries. And it would go to the same bottom line.
