Indeed. Consider your salary over your lifetime as another example of the bell curve. It's probably going to peak in your 40s and then nose-over. You'd better have a hobby you really like because job satisfaction isn't going to improve as you are given less interesting jobs and smaller pay throughout the rest of your working career. The ones who have a good old age are those who resisted the temptation to live big in their 30s and 40s.
