Folks

Inflation has jump up higher than expected, mainly because of a 20% increase in fruit.

I remember not that long ago they were pushing down citrus trees down South in West Aust.

Australia annually imports approximately $18 million worth of Fresh Concentrated Orange Juice. It also imports citrus products such as essential oils, preserved fruits, jams and jellies. These also are unlikely to be produced in Australia as it is uneconomic for growers to produce fruit solely for these outlets.

Just remember when you buy what you think is freash orange juice made in Aust, what you are often getting is a product that has been dryed exported (ie:from Brazil)& then mixed with boiling water to produce fresh juice. One way to check if your juice has been through this, is to check the label to see if any vitamin C has been added, as vitamin C is destroyed in the drying stage they have to add more to achieve the advertised % amount.

JR Fresh juice freak.
