I remember reading some time ago that INGdirect was going to be offering a limited checking account, which would offer bill-pay and ATM access, but no access to paper checks. Am I making this up or did I really read it somewhere? Does anyone know more than I do about this?
I had indeed heard a rumor that ING might offer bill pay.I heard a more likely rumor that ING would offer a debit card. But I never heard anything that they were going to offer an ATM card. They do offer one in Canada, but they have an extensive ATM network there. It would be way expensive to roll out an ATM network in the US.Also, now that they are no longer converting heavy users to transactional accounts, it makes less sense for them to offer transactional services like bill pay and debit card.
Why do you think it makes less sense?
