We just saw a film here at the Old Folks Home we liked. "Mozart & Figaro", by Hershey Felder (who also played the part of da Ponte in the film). Gave an in depth view of the composition of The Marriage of Figaro, as narrated by da Ponte. He holds that this is the most perfect opera ever written. Da Ponte and Mozart collaborated on this and two other of Mozart's operas. Plenty of the opera is played, not as opera but as a (dress) rehearsal for the emperor, Franz Joseph.

Can you see it? I have no idea. It is for sale. https://.com/title/mozart-and-figaro-in-vienna-paid/

Oops! Franz Joseph came somewhat later... 1848.

Should be Joseph II
