I had an interesting happening recently. I opened an LLBean credit card through MBNA. After getting the card I called and requested one for my wife, shortly a new card came with my name on it. A second call produced an apology and another new card in the mail, still with my name on it. A third call produced a profuse apology and a card with her name priority fedexed the next day. I do believe that the lady to which I spoke the third time was angrier that I as I just saw it as a mistake. My point in posting is this; everyone makes mistakes but I don't hold it against them if they are willing to make it right.

Stan,

I am going through an experience with Advanta Bank and my Edvantage card. This card gives you a small savings bond for so many points and it had a 5.9% intro offer for 6 months. On the first bill they charged me an annual fee (they weren't supposed to ) and they are running my transferred bill at a rate of 26%!
Obviously I called them and wrote them to cover my rear and they agreed to fix it. However, the next bill showed that they had not dropped the interest rate at all they had just dropped the annual fee. The second customer service guy was as friendly as was the first one and agreed to send me another bill (corrected) right off - which never happened. I am waiting to see what the third bill brings. I wonder if there is any connection between the one who does the promising on the telephone and whoever it is that actually fixes the bill.

I am not happy with my Edvanta card and told them so in my letters. This has to be the worst dealings I have ever had with a credit card company to date and I'll admit I've had many different cards..

These boards are full of horror stories about Advanta. What you are getting sounds like standard operating proceedure. I think that your last observation was true and my situation was rectified when the lady I spoke with actually attended to the fix.
Good Luck

<<I am going through an experience with Advanta Bank and my Edvantage card. >>

In a very early post on this board, I mentioned problems with this card. I got rid of it because they instituted fees to close the account and fees if it was inactive. You may want to check the fine print. (I never paid interest and the first year got quite a few bonds. Then they also put a cap on the number of bonds per year.)
