In my current employment situation, I am not able to enter a sponsored tax-deferred retirement plan for a year. Do you know of any tax-deferred programs that can be contributed into temporarily, until I become elgible for one of the plans offered by the company? Should I view this as an opportunity to diversify my portfolio, such DRiP investing, bonds, or ...? What is your opinion on investing in REIT's as a part of retirement planning?
