I've read many reviews of various 'instead of Office" apps that iPad users have tried. So far, nothing seems that intriguing. I've learned to live with Numbers and Pages on the Mac, but still find myself Choosing to use Office Mac 2011. The preference is complicated. It's not features, since I doubt I use 95% of Office's features anymore. So that in itself makes the transition easier.

So in my work, I haven't found either Pages or Numbers limiting, but the interface could be better. It's not familiarity, since I just upgraded from Windows Office 2000 to 2010, and Office Mac 2011 from the old 2004 version. Generally speaking, I figured out Word and Excel changes faster than I have adapted to either Pages or Numbers. Not sure why, since all of these apps have some tricky navigating in them.
