This might be a dumb question, but I thought I would ask anyway.

I know that when a fund if "closed", no new money can get in. Am I right in assumming that no new money includes money that would be put in through an IRA?

Thanks!

Andy

Most often, funds are "closed to new investors." Existing investors can continue to add money to their existing accounts.

I assume you meant what you said, and not "closed end funds," which are a different beast, where the money invested never changes and the shares trade like stocks.
