Is bacon an aphrodisiac – research says yes

Reuters -- Does the eating of bacon raise the libido? According to Professor Miles Robertson, head of sexual research at Mills University in Oklahoma, the answer is a resounding yes. “Our findings show bacon has a sincere effect on sexual response and that this effect is noticeable in ingesting both regular and Canadian bacon with more than 85 percent of bacon eaters showing increased desire lasting several days,” he said.

In surveys conducted by Mills University’s sexual research using university students showed eating bacon and then offering the opportunity for sex all but a few declined. “Empirical evidence shows,” said Robertson, “that after ingesting bacon more choose sexual congress than not and this equals our finding in 2008 when beer was the object of our study.”\

The Mills University experiments in sexual arousal began using BLT sandwiches and, at first, it was believed it was the tomato or lettuce causing the students to become sexually excited but when the researchers removed both the incidence of students taking advantage of the opportunity to bed another remained constant. “The power of bacon to raise sexual yearning is incredible,” said Professor Robertson.

One immediate effect of the department’s research is the banning of bacon at the University’s dining halls. Miriam Fassbinder, the University’s nutritional head, cut bacon from all diets including breakfast and now offers bacon-free meals but, as Ms. Fassbinder notes, “I think they sneak in their own supply because these students are as raunchy as they’ve ever been.”

Mills University will be conducting further research using the Sexual Research Department’s findings of Plunging Necklines (2006), Come Hither Looks (2007), Beer as a Sexual Lubricant (2008), and Bacon as an Aphrodisiac (2008). Professor Robertson believes the results will be instructive and lead to a better understanding of, particularly, bacon as a sexual stimulous.
