Is that just a result of the times?

No, it's probably the fact that you have 25 different stocks in a $200 account. Even at $10 per trade, and assuming you didn't sell anything in that period, a full $250 would have been spent just buying those 25 positions. It's a small miracle, even, that you still have some money in the account!

Remember, brokerage fees should not be higher than 2% per year of the net worth of your portfolio. Preferably much less.
