Often those convicted of 'non-violent' crimes, such as Assault, cybercrimes including theft of personal information, hazing, harassment, bullying, burglary, theft/larceny, extortion and trespass....are also charged with violent crimes. But because violent crimes are generally felony's, the evidence required is more rigid and in many cases, is insufficient to convict and so the perp is convicted of the lesser crimes in a plea deal. IOW, non-violent criminals may...and likely often are....violent individuals.

So let's see what the core crime rates in these large cities releasing these 'non-violent' criminals devolves into.
