Just wanted to put in writing something for anyone thinking about starting their first Drip:

I started with XOM in 2003. Never put in more than $100/month (actually only invested $50 about half the time). At times when money was tight I might have lowered the amount. Always reinvested.

Added OKE in 2008. Same idea: Never more than $100, actually went between $25-75 for the first two years. They spun off OGS in 2014. Rinse and repeat.

Added WTR in 2010. Same thing.

Total amount of money out of my paycheck invested since 2003: ~$32,000. Total value today: >$71,000.

My main point: I don't know the CAGR and it would be really hard to figure due to the unevenness of my contributions; and I'm sure I could've picked better companies. But the main idea is to just get started with SOMETHING. Over time, these small amounts that I didn't notice out of my checking account added up to a significant amount. (Original plan was 3 accounts - one for each of my three sons)
