It chafes to know that there are people out there who are prohibiting me to walk with my grandchildren and think it is just fine to prohibit research that could benefit everything from Parkinson's Disease to diabetes. I can assure you that these folks do not have any of those conditions that could be cured by stem cell research.

I am a type II diabetic opposed to stem cell research.
Although the research would benefit me personally, I believe that life begins at conception.

I hold that belief primarily because nothing is added to the fertilized egg once it is conceived. If implanted into a woman, all that is received by the baby is food, water, and oxygen. It is alive from the moment it is conceived.

And I held this view long before I came to also hold a religious viewpoint on the issue, so I don't think you can legitimitely dismiss my position as being simply my religious view.
