It is my understanding that entry into one of the indexes, such as the DJIA, can increase the price of your stock. The justification for that claim is that a number of mutual funds and ETF follow specific indexes so they need must purchase shares of any new stock added to the index to meet the requirements established for their fund. I also see where Tesla has announced a stock split giving the reason that they want to bring their stock price down to where it is more afforable to the smaller investors. - Ned
