It is not just SparQ vs Jaz. I visited Best Buy. They have SparQ set up next to Zip+. Within 15 min two customers asked salesperson about Zip. Both were shown Zip+ and told that for the same price ($199) SparQ was a better buy because of 1 gig vs 1 meg storage capacity. The salesperson also claimed that SparQ was newer technology than Zip+ so a better buy all around. The main questions of the customers was portability, and they were told both were just as portable. To the credit of the customers, both wrote down information and said they were going to do more checking. So it would appear IOM needs to lower prices and differentiate themselves from the competition in value, quality, and service. They need to point out the differences in their advertising.
