It seems to me that God hates divorce and Jesus didn't want us divorcing, but God allowed it due to our intervention.
Doesn't that conform to both the old testament and what Jesus said?

I dunno. Jesus said if you remarry you commit adultery. That's breaking one of the ten commandments. A church shouldn't allow that, IMO, if that's what was said.

Look, it's not that I don't find it reasonable, I do. I'm all for tolerance, forgiveness, and choice.

I kinda weighed in here on the interpretation vs inerrancy because I find the two mutually exclusive positions.

In terms of absolute truths, there is no wiggle room about 2+2=4. And unlike logical collections of work which can be broken down into logical (math) equations and shown to be consistent throughout, the bible can't.

And when I pick a pretty easy one, just like Lawrence did with giving away everything, suddenly 2+2=7. Ergo, no inerrancy. For me. Still.

I'm gonna stop now. I've been a wave against Bryan's beach on this one for awhile. I'm just real weak on NT scripture and took the opportunity to explore and learn some. I appreciate everyone's responses.
