What is liberating? The word "no".

Just got a call from a client. "If I drop things off on the 12th or 13th, can you get it done in time? "

While I was tempted to ask, "in time for what?" I went ahead and assumed she was talking about in time for the extended tax deadline on October 15.

So my answer was a simple "no". The little chuckle in my voice as I said that was probably uncalled for. Fortunately, I don't think that came across on the phone.

It's so liberating to say that. Apparently, it's also motivating. Suddenly, she is going to be able to get her info to me on the 6th. And that'll do.
