It's so typical of the poorly educated to latch on to some "magic bullet" like guns, god, hydroxychloroquine or whatever, instead of attempting to understand complex science.

Here's a veteran immunologist explaining that there is no proof and calling the use of hydroxychloroquine a "desperate play" for patients who have little other hope. Hardly an endorsement of widespread use. I think he knows a bit more about the matter than a bunch of right-wing bloggers and politicians.
