I picked up my 2002 T/A Firehawk #1420 from the dealer at lunch yesterday. Black A4. The interior smells like a new leather jacket.

Life is good!

From Pontiac.com: "There were "0" hits to your inquiry on "firehawk"."

So what is it, exactly? Got a link? Smells like who's leather jacket?

6Speed, imagining all the overhang.

Check out http://www.slpeng.com/2002firehawk/imagea.html

SLP Engineering retrofits Formula Firebirds and T/As into Firehawks, as well as Camero Z28s into the Camero SS. Pontiac doesn't consider the Firehalk to be one of theirs, oddly, since Chevy definitely pushes the Camero SS line to prospective buyers. You can go to some Pontiac dealers who don't even seem to know what they are.

On the bright side, this limits the number of Firehawks on the road vs Camero SS. This year 2002, the last full production year for F-bodies, produced 1501 Firehawks vs some 9000 Camero SS. I prefer the rarity myself.

(I don't know, just a leather jacket! It's not the same as "new car smell.)

Rarity is good......
Probably the one complaint i have with my car --i see about 50 a day

otoh... i knew "Firehawk" sounded familiar --there's one in the
office parking lot. Black.

very cool. (though, too young for me , and *i* think it would look
better without the rear spoiler)

Age is only a number. 'Sides, you gotta be old enough to afford it :)

They changed the rear spoiler for this last year. It's not raised like the T/As and Firehawks of the last few years. It's more like the standard Firebird spoiler, without open spaces between the spoiler and the car, but it has the third brake light all the way across the back of the spoiler instead of a short section in the middle. The spoiler also is a little broader where the front of the spoiler attaches near the rear window, so it swoops back in at the point of attachment. The standard Firebird spoiler is virtually flush where it attaches near the rear window.

The hood is also more subtle in its lines than the T/A, whose intakes are almost verticle.

Life is good!

Yer gonna smoke me on the way home right? Yeah, I knew it :P Just remember, the best driver restraint is between the ears. And try not to smirk when you go past.

Congrats ;-)

Congrats ;-)

Thanks!

Actually, during this break-in period, I am trying to behave!

(So don't encourage me to misbehave.)

true and True.

but bloodPressure and IQ are also "only" numbers... and some of us
do things differently because they're above or below average...

maybe it's a guy-thing, but vehicle is part of image and looks
to me that a 50-something out-of-shape guy in a Firehawk screams:
Midlife-crisis-and-none-of-the-young-women-i-know-will-even-talk-to-me.
And since i did that mid-life-crisis thing 20yrs ago.....

.not that what i do drive screams anything more appropriate

===*===

Couple of things:

a) Define young
b) Define crisis
c) By the time you've agreed on "my place or yours" how you get there is kinda moot
d) Sure it ain't your Father's Oldsmobile, it ain't your Mother you're after
e) WOOT!

ROFL

I have just filled out the postage-free postcard to order the Certificate of Birth for my new "baby" which identifies me as the "adoptive parent." It includes the "footprint," i.e., treadmark, of the "baby" as well.

Is this a great big toy or what??
