I roasted a few chicks in the Big Easy yesterday. Chopped one up and made an absolutely fantastic soup with noodles, carrots, celery, onion, potatoes, and homemade broth. Think I'll add peas next time. This soup is the bomb. When I had originally planned on making it it was supposed to be in the 50s today. Instead, it's mid 70s. Oh well. Still darned good soup!

That looks more like a stew than soup, Mike - pretty thick. What kind of noodles did you use in it. It looks very good - Nice job!

Yeah, you're right there ... I thinned it down some more when I made it for dinner because it was rather hearty. Regular egg noodles.

As you know I don't eat much lately and tonight was no exception.
I didn't eat, I wasn't hungry. I did drink a cup of tea.

I will make a report now that I have been trying to decide whether
I wanted to share or not but tonight I will share.

I had a stress test and failed it. I will be having a heart cath
Monday. I refused to have it earlier because my baby boy is out
of town, he will be back Sunday and will be with me.

That don't know what the problem is really, they are not certain
I have a blockage but I definitely have something LOL as usual it
has to be weird with me. Whatever it is with your good thoughts and
prayers and while you pig out of bbq in my behalf I am sure I will
be fine.

So that's my supper story this Monday night.

We enjoyed Sunday dinner so much I needed to post a picture of that. We had a french cut pork loin roast brined in a maple syrup mixture. Added mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, string beans, cranberries and homemade rolls. It was Gladell's birthday so I made sure we had a great dinner for her. Finished with chocolate cake.

Me, too! Sort of... I went to the groceria Sunday PM to get a chicken and some other stuff and the darned groceria was sold out of chickens! So, I bought a bag of frozen breast tenders because I already had my heart set on chicken veggie soup.

I was cold and rainy here Monday (well, 50's is cold here in Oct.). The soup was fantastic.

1 lb chick tenders chunked and browned
3 spring onions (about a lb)- bulbs used in sautee'ing chicken; greens added later
2 stalks celery diced
2-3 cups chicken stock from freezer + 2 cups water
1 lb bag of frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn, lima and green beans)
½ tsp celery seed, thyme, taragon
1 tsp oriental mustard powder, minced garlic
garlic salt and black pepper
2 handsful of pearled barley
1 oz vermicelli broken into 1½ in pieces

Makes a Deelish soup!
