It's very, very easy to set up a CafePress store, and easy to upload graphics for the items. But promoting the shop, and getting people to buy the items...

The base prices for the items are a little high -- for example, the base price for a long-sleeve t-shirt is $18.99. If you charge $20, you'll get just 1.01 per shirt sold.

I've used them to get some unique, personalized gifts for family. You can buy from your own store at cost -- so, scan that family photo, put it on a coffee mug, and order up a few for family. My sisters were tickled to receive a tile with a photo of us and our two cousins, all with our long straight 70s hair and jeans and t-shirts. The quality and service was very good.

If you want to play around a bit, and try out several different products with your own designs, it's a cheap way to do this. If you want to produce a few hundred -- or more -- of the same product, you could do so more cheaply elsewhere (like a local screen printer).
