I've been disheartened reading this thread and learning that there is no market to sell timeshares. :( My parents gave my sister and me their timeshare a few years ago - signed the papers to make us half owners - and we have been paying the maintenance and RCI fees ever since (about $200/year for me). I have only used it once. My sister, Didi, uses it every other year to go to the beach, so she gets value out of it, at least.

My brother and two of my cousins have timeshares at the same condo, and we are planning a family reunion there for 2016. I am looking forward to that. I am hoping that we can make this an annual or every other year event so that we can at least get some use out of it!

Thanks very much to the person who gave the link for the timeshare users group - I'm going to check it out.
