I've told my kids for years to lie, lie, lie on the internet. I don't want their real names, real addresses or age or whether they're male/female to be on ANY website or internet database. They're young teens now.

For one thing, there's pedophiles. For another, they could do something really boneheaded that would follow them forever. There's mean high school kids, RABID MARKETERS who use your online info to spam you into oblivion. Identity theft. Stalkers. People who think they have the right to shoot you because they disagree with your political, social, or religious views...

I also don't want my real name associated with posts. It would limit the entertaining stories I can now tell about family and all would be the poorer for that. (smile) I mean, some of those stories are true!

HECK NO to ending online anonymity. I would leave sites that insist on my real info and find those that don't. You wanna vote on these issues? You vote with your money and your feet. I would leave even the Fool for forcing me to post under my real name.

SG "Anonymous on the internet for 23 years..."
