If you cannot dispute or verify the claim, but accept it anyway is that not just blind faith, based on appeal to authority?

When you go out to buy a new stove, do you demand to see the mechanical blueprint and the electrical circuit diagrams, and demand that the vendor take the case off of the unit so you can inspect the wiring and the mechanical assembly yourself?

When you go to the supermarket to buy a steak, do you demand that the store x-ray it to ensure that there is nothing lurking inside of it that shouldn't be?

If your physician tells you that you have a tumor and that you need surgery to remove it, do you go and read every medical journal about that particular type of cancer to confirm his diagnosis and recommendation for treatment?

There's a point in all of our lives where we reach the limitations of our own knowledge and experience, and thus need to trust the guidance of experts in whatever field -- and that's just as true of classical western philosophy as it is of any science.

That said, a rigorous proof of the existence of a Creator would be far more profound to those who hold to Agnosticism and Atheism, as well as to those who dwell in the land of unbelief, than to those who adhere to Judeo-Christian faith.
